What is the Pfizer Bridge Program™?
The Pfizer Bridge Program is a service that your doctor enrolls you in. You will
be enrolled when the Pfizer Bridge Program receives your SMN.
The Pfizer Bridge Program helps you...
- Fill your prescription
- Deal with insurance
- Get information about treatment
The Pfizer Bridge Program works by assigning you a Patient Care Consultant (PCC),
who can help you evaluate your insurance coverage and submit the necessary paperwork
for you, so you can begin your treatment with SOMAVERT® (pegvisomant
for injection) as quickly as possible.
Pfizer Bridge Program Patient Hotline
The
Pfizer Bridge Program Patient Hotline (800-645-1280) is available 24 hours a day.
Patients can call any time, day or night, if they have questions regarding:
- SOMAVERT product information
- Shipping information
- Insurance/reimbursement concerns
Patients should contact their healthcare professional's office if they have any
questions related to their health or treatment, such as:
- Medicine side effects
- Illnesses while using SOMAVERT
- Expectations of treatment
- Other patient-specific questions
How can I get SOMAVERT?
Your doctor fills out a Statement of Medical Necessity (SMN), which is like a prescription.
Then your doctor sends it to the Pfizer Bridge Program (see below).
How does the Pfizer Bridge Program work?
- Your doctor prescribes SOMAVERT and, with your permission, submits an SMN and any
available insurance information to the Pfizer Bridge Program.
- A Pfizer Bridge Program Patient Care Consultant (PCC) is assigned to you.
- Your PCC contacts you to:
- Gather any additional insurance information necessary
- Answer your insurance or reimbursement questions
You can help speed the process by having the following current information available
when your PCC calls:
- A copy of your insurance policy, which can be obtained from your employer or insurance
company
- The policyholder's name, address, and date of birth
- Your PCC verifies your insurance coverage and seeks authorization for treatment
with SOMAVERT from your insurance company. Once the insurance company has approved
the medication, your PCC contacts you to set up delivery of SOMAVERT.
- If your insurance benefits do not cover therapy with SOMAVERT, your PCC will seek
alternative sources of coverage. He or she may also ask your insurance company to
extend coverage to include therapy with SOMAVERT.
What if my insurance does not cover my treatment?
If your insurance will not pay for your treatment, your PCC will look for other
sources of payment.
